Kim Sherrie Sawyer is the President and General Counsel of The Locator Services Group Ltd. ("TLSG"), which she founded in 1994. Ms. Sawyer attended drafting sessions of the 1995 Uniform Unclaimed Property Act and actively assisted the Commonwealth of Massachusetts Department of Treasury with the drafting of the Commonwealth's 2000 Unpaid Check Fund Regulations.
Ms. Sawyer began her legal career at the Commonwealth of Massachusetts Department of Revenue. She served as a Counsel to the Commissioner and represented the Commonwealth before the United States Bankruptcy Court for the District of Massachusetts and the Appellate Tax Board. Ms. Sawyer continued her legal career as an Associate attorney in Parker, Coulter, Daley & White's director and officers' liability department. Prior to starting TLSG, Ms. Sawyer served as Vice President and General Counsel of SeaQuest Partners Ltd., an asset recovery firm.
Ms. Sawyer holds a Bachelor of Arts degree, with honors, from Clark University and a Juris Doctor from Boston University. She is a member of the bars of the State of New York and the Commonwealth of Massachusetts and admitted to practice in the United States District Court for the Northern District of Oklahoma. Ms. Sawyer participated in an Inter-University Consortium Program on Negotiation for senior executives sponsored by Harvard University, Massachusetts Institute of Technology and Tufts University.
Ms. Sawyer was nominated in 1999 for Ernst & Young's Entrepreneur of the Year, in recognition of those individuals whose ingenuity, hard work, and innovation have fostered successful and growing businesses. She is an active member of the International Women's Insolvency and Restructuring Confederation as well as the Massachusetts and New York Bar Associations.
